STA CRUZ --- Getting in shape after the holidays is a breeze when you play Beach Tennis. This fun sport is hot on the island, getting hotter every moment. The two new courts at MooMba Beach have become a dire necessity as the two existing courts have proven to be too few for the growing demand. Next week the first players will inaugurate the two spectacular courts.
With the first Beach Tennis Ranking event coming up on Eagle Beach on the last Sunday of the month, it is high time to dust off your paddle racquet and start practising. Beach Tennis pro and world-ranked Beach Tennis player Bertrand Coulet can teach you a trick or two.
Starting January 23 Bertrand will be taking on kids under 10; the group is taught at MooMba Beach from 11 to noon. An a.m. Beach Tennis drill gets everyone going on Eagle Beach on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 to 9. For more information about Bertrand Coulet's classes, you can call 568-0344. Registration for the upcoming Beach Tennis Ranking event at Eagle Beach should be done via www.arubabeachtennis.com or by calling Jochem or Sjoerd at 583-7074/592-6421.
